Chino Cochino?

h1 Posted 3 years, 1 month ago in the late evening by oso

Let’s take a break from my incessant whining about my very flat wallet shall we?
Last Monday, I think it was, Laura and I took off in the Chi Chi for a three hour desert trip to Northern Coahuila. Through the maquila filled pueblo/rancho of San Pedro, the vast expanse of flat desert nothingingness, and finally [...]

Palenque

h1 Posted 4 years, 6 months ago at around evening time by oso

Cruised by Palenque this morning - some of the craziest ruins I´ve ever seen. Definitely comparable to Macchu Picchu - but with even thicker ass jungle. And we stayed in this camp in the jungle with hundreds and hundreds of bearded, sandaled hippies. You know how you always wonder at Phish shows, like, where the [...]

kerry?

Will someone explain to me how Kerry got the bandwagon? He doesn’t really bother me - in fact, he was one of my favorites when interviewed on pbs … but still … i’m in with dean.

Zapatismo

We´ve reached our true destination - San Cristobal de las Casas. Walking through here, seeing the same plaza where lied so many bloody bodies the first day of 1994 is truly like … it´s hard to explain. Like Naomi Klein said, we grew up as the supposed generation after history ended, not actually expecting to [...]

Oaxaca

Life would be amazing if Kevin got off his ass and left for … wherever the hell he´s leaving for.
So here you have it, the newest category. I don’t really like it - sounds like a recipe for cheesy prose like Lennon’s imagine. Or Lenin’s soviet union, whatever your slant is [...]

Cuernavaca

Mexico city, second largest in the world, turned out to be a vacation from our vacation. It was much needed - washing the clothes, shaving, cleaning out the car, and enjoying a little sunshine.
Distrito Federal has a bad rap. It´s citizens are called Chilangos and are hated throughout provincial Mexico - shit, gotta go

queretaro

h1 Posted 4 years, 7 months ago around lunchtime by oso

Still not able to connect my laptop to the internet so I probably won´t be posting anything for a while. Still working on the website though so when I get back to Torreon I´ll put everything up.
We´re in Queretaro right now hanging out with Mario. Tonight or tomorrow we´re on our way to Acambaro and [...]

guanajuato

h1 Posted 4 years, 7 months ago around lunchtime by oso

For some reason I´m having a tough time connecting my laptop at the internet cafes here so I haven´t been able to post anything. We´re in Guanajuato right now, on our way to San Miguel de Allende where we´re going to stay the night and then on to Queretaro to visit Mario.

Aguascalientes

h1 Posted 4 years, 7 months ago around lunchtime by oso

I forgot to mention. There was actually one interesting thing I found in San Antonio. I came across Arthur Magazine, a national indie magazine. Like Farehenheit (no idea how to spell that), but stretching from coast to coast. Why Dolly Parton is on the cover and why it was laying around in San Antonio but [...]

off to aguascalientes

h1 Posted 4 years, 7 months ago around lunchtime by oso

We’re slackers, there’s no doubt about it. Finally we’re off to Aguascalientes to conquer the world. Los conquistadores nuevos … ten cuidado.
