I caught Star Trek on the flight home from Portugal yesterday and the two Spocks meeting was more than my simple, linear brain could handle. Maybe it's the same part of my brain that has trouble with spatial recognition (3-D video games are completely impossible for me), but the alternate reality stuff is so hard for me to grasp. For some reason, it was easier to deal with on paper (maybe because the author tells you the date and how old each of the characters is at the beginning of a scene). Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, but have a sense that I'm going to have a completely different reaction to the story line than I did 4 years ago. Funny how living a linear life can change your feelings like that. I fully expect the movie to confuse the crap out of me, even though I’ve read the book.
