i agree with miguel that the bi-directional ability of translators is vital to expand the lingua project in itself, to build a better community, to cover new areas and to foster a new overall scenario where we move from translatong to localizring and contextualizing, and then to serach and produce new local content related to that orginal post in english

yes, projects like lingua will become more and more important not just for GV but for the internet as a whole, and “translators” will embody a larger role, just like the “readers” become “producers” on the net

also, as italian group we did something similar to david’s suggestion (wrote a post about the recent earthquake in italian and then translated into in english to be published on the main GV site) – but again, this is just one part of the whole process of making lingua bidirectional

all this, of course, implies on-going improved abilities (and maybe training?) for translators and editors to keep up with translation skills, world events, online tools, etc.
