I found his book 'Snow' very haunting... I know people prefer My Name Is Red which I haven't read yet and many have difficulties with Snow, but for some reason it got a hold of me and made me finish it, which I do rarely with fiction these days... sadly. Enjoy the read.

Hi, Istanbul is good but in order to get a better grasp of Orhan Pamuk's literary skills, you could have started with a novel instead of his memoires. I would suggest the New Life to begin with...

Dooode - nice choice, it's a great book. And once you're done with it (it shouldn't take you a month) you should try My Name Is Red.
