The Kinshasa Symphonic Orchestra
This is exactly what I mean when I talk about art for the sake of art. I love the smile on the barber after he’s done singing. [via Michael and Elia]

This, David, is one of the best posts I have ever come across – EVER. I love reading your analysis and your interpretation and insight into/of everything from politics to books to whatever, but the language these people speak really blew me away. Thanks for the smile. -M
I lived in the eastern region of Zaire (DRC) during the early 1990s. I spent a total of about 14 days in Kinshasha during the year and a half I was in the entire country. I was struck by the vibrancy and dynamics of the place among other things (smile). This video brought much joy and fond memories to me. THANKS!

I am very pleased to see that you like the short trailer we filmed in Kinshasa. In the meantime the orchestra had its first open air performance in its neighborhood, Ngiri-Ngiri. A great success with thousands of Kinois attending a three hour concert.
That event will be featured in the documentary film about the orchestra. Please take a look at the website http://www.kinshasa-symphony.com.
