These days I don’t write much on either Global Voices or Rising Voices. Much of that is left to my colleagues Rezwan and Juhie, along with all the amazing coordinators of the Rising Voices projects.
But, thanks to the work of the volunteer translates at Global Voices, what little I do write can now be ready by many more people. Today I received an email from Leonard Chien, the Co-Director of the Lingua Project, telling which of my posts had been translated into which languages:
One Blogger’s Determination to Help Baby Kamba in Madagascar was translated into French by Lucie Marie Dorion, Italian by Stefano Ignone and Spanish by Maria Florencia Puente.
Public Health Projects to Use Citizen Media to Empower Community Voices was translated into Bangla by Sonia, French by Claire Ulrich, Italian by Tamara Nigh, Macedonian by Elena Ignatova, Spanish by Adriana Gutierrez, Simplified Chinese by Leonard and Traditional Chinese by Leonard.
Travel with a Purpose was translated into French by Lucie Marie Dorion, Italian by Lucie Marie Dorion, Simplified Chinese by Leonard and Traditional Chinese by Leonard
These people are amazing. The posts I write aren’t known for being brief so it really means a lot that all of these translators took the time to translate the entire text. Next time we’re at a bar, mojitos are on me.

btw, david, you mentionned in Budapest that participants in the Rising Voices workshops around the world need support in the form of comments on their shiny new blogs. But how can we “trace” them ? Maybe a special page (“Adopt a Rising Voice newbie!”) could be opened on the Rising Voices site with easely accessible lists of links ?
