Who knew – McDonalds in Bangkok have free wi-fi. Not that I’m in McDonalds … but next door at the equally ubiquitous Starbucks.

I have to admit, Latin Americans are even worse about the clapping. I remember being on a turbulent flight with a bunch of drunk Italians once. They all kissed each other when we landed safely. Now that sounds like a good ritual to me.

Three snaps about the Shell gas stations – I actually choose the gas station across the street whenever I can just because the ads are so damn annoying. They are just as bad on the Bangkok skytrain. No wonder we’re always in our own iPod bubbles – without them we’re sabotaged with marketing.

I was rudely reminded of another place that sports new ads: Shell gas stations.

It is now impossible to fill without getting an ear and eye full of ads and inane tv. The bastards have built blaring tvs into the pumps.
