It’s that time of year when what seems like half of the US blogosphere is partying it up in Austin, TX for South by Southwest. This is the first SXSW with Twitter, which, methinks, doesn’t play well with alcohol. Around 2 a.m. Central Time, I’ve been entertained over the past couple days with a steady flow of Twitter messages like ‘who wants to “hang out” (hook up) with me’ and 1001 keeps me abreast of the latest fuzzy photographs of rock stars wearing their girlfriends’ jeans. I admit, SXSW will always intrigue me even if I never end up going. The indefatigable Ethan Zuckerman, whose blog makes me feel like I’ve never missed a geek conference in the past two years, was at TED and now, SXSW.
