I should have been much much smarter than to think that I was the first person to coin the term “Googleganger.” (from Doppelgänger)
My own googlegänger (that is, a person with your same name who shows up when you google yourself thus guaranteeing that you both are aware of each other even though you have not communicated) is a 53-year-old a public health veterinarian with the Hawaiian state Department of Health. He wears sandals, just like me, and likes to garden.

What about you? Who’s your googlegänger?

One of my Googlegängers is the founder of Castro Valley, CA. Also, I have another Googlegänger who apparently is a poet, but I haven’t found any poems by me. I mean, by him.

Ha! Mines a Catholic Cardinal from Peru – pretty apt considering that us Republicans are closer to God.

Mine is a former Michigan daycare provider. I say former because her license has been suspended for shaking a baby so badly that the child required hospitalization. I am not claiming my tocaya!

Wow, what if I don’t have any Googlegängers? What does that say about my identity?

Hijole!…I don’t even want to know if I have a googlegänger.
Here’s some info about that festival I had posted on another bloga…

Not to worry, Sparsh – you have company in the left-out zone — with a combination of names like I’ve got, it’s unlikely I’ll be finding a Googleganger any time soon.

Hrm. All i found was someone picture of a baby on a myspace-esque website. Who the hell knows who or where my googleganger is. Bummer.

The founder of a city is pretty sweet, but really, infamous baby shaker takes the cake.
It’s sorta weird to think about actually: how are own characters influence or don’t influence who we’ve become. It seems completely plausible to me that I could have turned out to be a public health veterinarian if I took a turn here instead of there a couple times.

I agree with Oso, Kelly’s infamous baby shaker takes the cake…JaJa
I have a couple of googlegangers. First, there is a mormon artist from Texas. Then, there is an actress from the Philippines who survived breast cancer. That’s it for now I guess

Mine are less exotic, but I have three. An assistant professor, electronic media at a Tennessee university, a researcher at the Urban Institute, and, coincidentally — someone with the exact same job as me: http://msjenniferwoodard.blogspot.com/. And yeah, I feel like I could have been any of those other professions as well.

Your name is David Sasaki? Ok I’m half Korean myself and I had like NO idea from the few pics I’ve seen of you that you are part Asian? Yes, I know not everyone is racially the same as their surnames, but that is usually less so with men.
My googleganger is an elementary school teacher in Germany (with my married name) If you do with my maiden name, it goes on endlessly – doctors, teachers, porn star even… And no, that’s not me working under my maiden name heh.

Oh, I love this concept! I have been aware of my googleganger for many years. She is some kind of folk or gospel musician in Texas and I think she also makes jewelry. While I love her like a ghost sister, I also hate her guts for sitting on “MY” domain name for years… I should really email her and say hi. She probably knows me just like I know her.

There’s an intriguing documentary called “The Grace Lee Project” that has been running on the Sundance Channel this month. The premise is simple: A documentary filmmaker named Grace Lee seeks out other people named Grace Lee to interview about their Grace Lee-ness. From there on, it gets more complicated.
