Two Unfortunate Truths

1.) The faster you drive the more difficult it is to see what’s around you.

2.) The more people talking in a room, the more difficult to hear any one person.

    Oh, yeah. And the louder the room, the louder you feel the need to talk in order to be heard.

    The worst is background music in a restaurant or other public place which isn’t loud enough to be listened to but is loud enough to make everyone raise their voices over it. I’ve wondered whether a smart muzak system wouldn’t detect the noise level in the room and just shut itself off when it gets outside certain parameters.
