Sparsh’s Friday 10: There Is No Mission

h1 Posted 2 years, 5 months ago mid-afternoon by oso

Once we get our act together, this will hopefully be ready for download every friday night. We’ll post the track list on Sunday night.

Episode One (right click, save as)

Or, you can subscribe to our podcast feed. If you use iTunes, simply copy and paste this url - http://feeds.feedburner.com/oso - where it says “subscribe to podcast” under the “advanced” menu. It will download all songs and podcasts into your iTunes library automatically.

For anyone who would like to comment on the fact that Sparsh and I giggle like 7-year-old school girls, please save your breath … it’s already been established by myriad sources. I would also like to recommend Trader Joe’s sparkling lemonade with Smirnoff vodka.

Track List:

  • “Rough Gem” by Islands
  • “Clap!Clap!” by Clap!Clap!
  • “Fire” by Aceyalone
  • “Craco é Canela” by Tortoise & Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy
  • “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley

  • “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” by Michael Jackson

The chili spiced mango (in the dried fruit section) also from Trader Joe’s would be an excellent snack to go along with the above suggested beverage.

Thanks..now I can start off the week like a Gap commercial! And yeah..funny girlie giggles. :)

Now see, if you hadn’t pointed out the giggling I wouldn’t even have noticed….

Here sipping my Sunday morning coffee and groovin’ to your tunes. How about a playlist next time?

I’m digging the new Islands album. They touring the country now and saw them last week, definitely worth checking out if they come by SD.

Okay that downloading into iTunes thing doesn’t work.

Heheh. What is that last track with “Lin Tin Tin from Singapore”? It’s crazy hilarious.

i couldn’t get it to work in itunes either. what did i do wrong?

    Gustavo,

Even then I try not to stop.

    Xolo,

I don’t know why this conversation is coming up so frequently in my world recently, but I am absolutely against the mixing of dulce and picante. Well, except for my women of course. Have you had the Thai lime and chile peanuts? Mmm, mmm, good.

    Yoly,

I don’t have a television … is one of these songs on a gap commercial? That’s pretty funny. Gap should hire me and sparky to choose their ad music.

    Georgia,

Hmmm, our goal is not to inspire grooving, but rather shaking. We obviously have some tweaking to do. The plan is to get the podcast up by friday night and post the track list on sunday night. In practice, that probably means uploading the podcast sometime over the weekend and posting the tracklist sometime during the week.

    Eddie,

Agreed. I hadn’t heard it until I scooped it off Sparsh. Great to see that flag by your name - I hope you’re having a blast. I think I might come and cause some trouble via IRC.

    Joel and Linda,

I love that it’s the two Harvard students who can’t get it to work. No problems over here:

OK, just joking, I think I know what’s going on. The mp3 attachment gets bumped out of the rss feed as soon as I post again. It’s a bug I need to work out, but if you have the feed in your podcasts and you update them regularly, you should be able to download future Friday 10’s.

The Lin Tin Tin song is “Rondo Acapricio” by Tosca. Tosca’s album “Suzuki” is one of my top 20 of all time.

No Oso, none of your songs are on a gap commcercial, but they are pretty close sounding to one…hence the reason it came to my mind so quickly. lol Wow, I never knew someone in America that didn’t own a television..must be pretty interesting.

    Oso,
You aversion to dulce+picante really shows your gringo roots.
You are closing off some fantastic worlds:

Tamarind+chile (pulparindo in Mexico, but found in different places)
    Mango chutneys
    Spicy chocolate ice cream

Sweetness brings out some of the subtle flavors in many in chiles and other spices. I encourage reconsidering expanding the horizons of your palate. But I will still respect you should you choose not to.

I don’t know about girly giggling, but the track list was on point. Thanks!

  13. 13CésarNo Gravatar from United States says:

    Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

You should see these fuckers on stage. They rock el chango. :P
