There are few comedians that crack me to pieces just by looking at pictures of them or reading about them. so with great joy i learned the new Christopher Guest movie will feature both Ricky Gervais AND Fred Willard, as well as most of the regulars from Guest’s other films. The movies called For Your Consideration . you bet your sweet ass.
Fred Willard is a complete enigma to me because how can one man possibly be that funny? the only way i figure is that he has no idea just how funny he is. cause if he is doing that on purpose, the man is incredible. and i’m pretty sure he knows exactly what hes doing.
every phrase that comes otu of this guys mouth is pure gold. if you’ve seen him in Best In Show or Waiting for Guffman you know what im talking about. in fact, if you’ve seen him in anything where he has the chance to improvise a little you know what im talking about. no what ‘im sayin’ no what’im sayin ? (thats Andy Milonakis, not Fred Willard).
HP - if you still don’t know who Ricky Gervais is by now you should probably just give up altogether.
I thought I heard somewhere that Guest was done making his mockumentaries. Good news.
Re: Fred Willard, if you ever have a chance to see him featured on Inside Dish (Rachael Ray’s 34th original show on FN), I highly recommend doing so. Each year, he and his wife throw a completely nonironic balls-to-the-wall Fourth of July party with kids doing skits, readings of the Declaration of Independence, a parade, and fireworks (all in his backyard) — he seems like a class act.

Word up–Fred Willard is a riot. I laughed my ass off (it was reattached without much scarring, fortunately) at Best in Show, although his role was a small one. When is the next film due to come out?
