[...] I’ve gotta say, these emails are starting to sound a bit demanding. The last time I heard from you was over three months ago. Remember? You wanted everyone to stop asking you so many questions. And now this, a one line email that says only … now let’s see, I’ve got it around here somewhere … ahh yes, “dear world, please tell everyone to chill the fuck out.” [...]

Por eso nunca progresamos, porque no nos apoyamos mutuamente.

it's funny that those are two things that irritate me the most in life - a thousand questions and bad drivers. i can NOT stand it when i constantly get asked in a fast food drive thru "would you like to make that a combo" or "would you like an apple pie with that" -- hell, if i did i would f'in said so. and i think the drivers in the south are about as bad as those in mexico. here though ... they don't drive horribly fast, they drive horribly slow. and they love to pull really quickly out in front of you on a 2 lane road then immediately slow down to 20 miles below the speed limit. UGGGHHH. it's infuriating.

I really like your opening. It is reminicent of a George Carlin routine (who can be a genius with discourses like that).

A few points on the rest of your post:

Like my new friend Debra, I would recklessly walk in front of cars at cross walks and stop lights. There is no such thing as the pedestrian right of way in Mexico, but - call me an imperialist - it’s one aspect of American culture I’d be happy to import.

A tip - if you make eye contact with the driver, they WILL stop. However, if you don't, GET OUT OF THE WAY. I learned this at a very young age in Mexico City. It was helpful when living in Italy where the rules are about the same as Mexico (although they care more about their cars there and there is a greater reluctance to hit you).

You know how in the U.S. you use your blinker when you want to switch lanes? Well, in Mexico, you use it when you want the person behind you in the next lane over to speed up. It took me a while to understand this.

It is like that here in New England, except here there is the expectation that you will use your signal. I hate driving here. At least in Mexico, you know that things are anarchic.

What about semi-trucks passing you up using the imaginery middle lane? This usually happens when you choose libre over quota.
