I Do Bid Adieu

h1 Posted 3 years, 6 months ago mid-morning by oso

I started writing this at 3 a.m. Then I tried to finish packing. Then slept for 45 minutes. Now I’m leaving for Tijuana in five minutes to take a flight to Monterrey. I’ll probably be offline for a couple weeks so I leave you in the unwashed hands of Moreno and Abogado. Paz.

By the time most of you read this, I’ll be leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again, to Monterrey, Mexico where I’ll be seeing my girlfriend for the first time in about six months. It’s more than a Valentine’s Day visit though … I’m heading south to live and work.

I’m surrounded by all my junk right now, trying to decide what to bring with me and what to leave behind. My bicycle? Probably not. Too many potholes and too good of a chance it’ll get stolen. My guitar? I’d like to. I’ll probably finally actually have a chance to practice and record some songs, but I don’t know if they’ll let me carry it on the plane. I think I have decided to take my rock climbing gear with me though. Portrero Chico, just outside Monterrey, looks pretty impressive and it’ll be a good way for me to meet people with similar interests.

When you get to Monterrey, have some cabrito for me (only if it isn’t Tyson - you never know now with NAFTA).

  9. 9cindyluNo Gravatar from United States says:

Mari, when you put your email, it has to be the same one you registered with over at Gravatar. Also, I think it takes a little bit (no more than a day) for them to approve it and then it’ll start being posted.

It is also case sensitive, so use the same upper case, lower case, you used when you registered your email.

It is unfortunate about your climbing gear because i definetly wanted to steal that. Maybe there is other stuff i can rummage and steal from your room (like a wet suit)

:-) Take care, y pinche Oso, better leave some beer for me homes eh?

I know everyone around here probably has bigger problems around here–that sucks about your account, Abogado–but when you get the chance, I ran into this error today at the site’s root:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wppaginate() in /home/.abbottwasher/dsasaki/el-oso.net/index.php on line 26

It’s been a while since I played with Wordpress, but I think that function is missing a single underscore, like this: wp_paginate()

Sorry to be a bother. Hope this helps.

Hey y’all, thanks for all the comments, seriously. It was cool to see the support while moving down here.

Xolo, I tried some tacos del cabrito. Tasted just like tacos de barbacoa to me. I’m pretty sure that Tyson hasn’t delved into goat yet.

HP, mi casa es tu casa.

Seyd, everything I read having to do with blogging in Monterrey, you’re in charge of. Does this mean we’re gonna grab a beer together pretty soon?

Julio, there are plenty of Yonques by our house so I’ll make sure to stop by one.

Al, you’ll be asking me to stop posting photos on flickr pretty soon.

Elenita, thanks for pointing out the error. Wordpress actually sits at http://el-oso.net/blog and the root folder just calls the files. That function called a plugin which was made part of the wordpress core in 1.5. Should be fixed.

    Love the new gravatars.
