el-oso.net hatched ass first in the fall of 2003 as a way to keep in touch with high school and college friends who were all headed in their own directions. Go figure, not a damn one of them checks in today. I had thought I would be moving to Istanbul, Turkey in November and figured this would be the closest to the 3:30 a.m., 24-pack toasted, quasi-intellectual meleés we’d dabble in thrice-weekly back in San Diego.
My one way flight to Turkey ended up an empty seat and in mid-December I installed the blogging software b2 which later became WordPress to record my road trip from San Diego to Chiapas and back with my girlfriend. The blog officially began on December 18th, 2003. Any entries before that come from my journals and have been transcribed.
On 4-20-2004 (go figure) El Moreno decided to crash the party and hasn’t left us alone since. Then in August 2004, Abogado joined the fray. If you have seen him, please tell him to come home.
