A candy named Mary Jane with a little girl’s skirt blowing up in the wind. Tastes like taffy.

Is there a reason this was sitting on your desk all week, Osito?
i have a cousin named mary jane. after i got to a certain age (high school), i always wondered if she got sick of the references to the song and marijuana.
Elenita,
I like my Mary Jane aged like good wine.
Cindylu,
You mean the Manu Chao song?
Mary Jane ain’t so good. Not like Taffy, more like hardned to a brick peanut butter with a powder dirt taste.
Actually, Mary Jane was a bit of early marketing - she started out as a comic strip character. A similar example is Buster Brown and his dog Tige, who also were once comic strip characters (in their own strip), and are now trademark logos for kids’ shows. Dinty Moore is now a logo for canned stew - originally he owned a bar & grill in the comic strip “Bringing Up Father,” otherwise known as “Jiggs and Maggie”…
So what comic strip did Mary Jane appear in? Why, she was Buster Brown’s girlfriend…
