I’m like Hitler, but without the evil

The story goes when Dan wasliving with me and we were probably bitching about the border hopping wet back that almost hit us on the road earlier that day and we came up with the idea of IHB. It was a title for our closest friends, people might brag that they are a prt of it but unless they’re around the star they are a liar. IHB isn’t racist like some may think, it’s more about respect and prejudice against stpidity. If you come to America and don’t speak English I don’t respect you. and as well if you are just plain stupid I probably don’t like you. Beaners generally fall under both these categories however I have many friends who are Mexican so you do the math.

The above passage is from my roomate’s personal page on the website for his “crew.” All spelling errors his, and note the brilliant line “it’s more about respect and prejudice against stpidity.” You can’t make this stuff up. Obviously I had not read this before moving in with the guy, and if i had i would not be living with him. Unfortunately I found this too late. I’m not going to name him, but I’ll refer to him as “roomie.”

Roomie’s friends have been visiting here the last two nites. Both of these nights my roomate has left them high and dry and either Freddie or I had to take care of them. The first nite he left them in the basement, came up to the apartment and passed out. They came ringing the doorbell at 5 am and freddie had to crawl out of bed to let them in. Last nite we all went out to a bar, and Roomie of course leaves one of them behind. These boys being clueless out of San Diego, they had no idea where they were or how to get home. I had to babysit the guy the whole way home since Roomie obviously didn’t care what happened to him. for some strange reason, his pleas of “please don’t leave me behind” had an effect on me; too bad I can’t say the same for Roomie.
This morning the three of them woke me up at 9am (after bringing Roomie’s friend home at 4am) by reliving the previous nite in loud obnoxious voices. I couldn’t go back to sleep, so i woke up since it sounded like everyone else was awake. at about 10:30am they all fell back asleep leaving me the only one awake and completely unable to fall back asleep. the bastids. so i did the only thing i could: blasted Pavement’s Brighten the Corners at high volume to make sure they couldn’t sleep. Thus begins my passive-aggresive campaign against my roomate; unfortunately Freddie is getting caught in the crossfire. Sorry about the loud music, Freddie, but there’s a war going on.

I could go on listing the things Roomie does that upsets me, a long list it would be. But I’d rather handle it the way i’ve been handling it this far: repressing my anger and taking it out on my girlfriend. this seems to be in vogue these days.
It’s very frustrating knowing people like these exist, especially when you’re living with one of them. God knows San Diego has its share of stuck-up white boys lost in their Hurley/Quicksilver t-shirts and baseball hats, but why did I have to end up living with one? Well, the Pavement album has just finished so I’m putting on the The Rogers Sisters - Pure Evil cd. It’s not particularly good, but i’m sure its annoying as hell for those trying to sleep and who listen to nothing but Silverstein, Yellowcard, and other horrible SD bands. Ah sweet revenge.

mi morenito, pobrecito. Two ideas for revenge:
    1. contact his employer and tip them off that he is a racist by pointing them in the direction of his website.
    2. contact the non-white neighbors by anonymously leaving a print out of his webpage in their mailbox.

Haha - I like both ideas.

yeah those ideas are great. if someone was to let him read that “passage” he wrote now he would feel pretty stupid i can guarantee. that was written at least two years ago. someone should let him see that.
