Ok, so as much as I’d like to, I can’t really blame Moreno for the blog going away. I was trying to tweak some code while in Sumatra and then … Ka-boom, the whole thing died. I tried to reinstall WordPress and start over, but Indonesia’s internet access isn’t exactly Speedy Gonzalez.

I’m sure we’re all distressed about missing out on Moreno’s pervading wisdom and social insight, but the good news is the new install of WordPress (the software that this blog runs on) means there are all sorts of new toys for you and me.

Before, the whole website was really starting to take after my own personality: good intentions all over the place, but no follow through. It was some broke ass shit. So I went around today cleaning house and the result should be that everything on the site works and has a consistent design (with the exception of the forum which is a pain in the ass to change). Please let me know if any links are broken or something looks funny in your browser. The Bio section is still a long ways from finished and the Portal is still missing a lot of my favorite links, but those will be added soon. Some new recent photos are up in the improved photography section.

The other new feature of the site that I really like is on the side bar of the blog page. It’s called Recent Reads but is known as a linkblog amongst bloggers. It’s basically a link and short description of recent articles, blogs, and websites I’ve been reading lately. I’m always tempted to write – ‘hey, look at this article’ on the blog, but don’t want to waste posts. And now I don’t have to. You can find a collection of all my Recent Reads here and can also subscribe to the feed using Feeddemon or any other RSS reader. (Just like you can subscribe to the posts on this blog and most others)

Well, now you’re fully updated on the site. Moreno should be coming around with his usual cynicism soon. Time for me to add more links and photos.
