Ralph Nader is an idiot

That’s about all I wanted to say. And I hope he doesn’t receive a single vote in November. He’s right that America needs to break the two party duopoly - but that is pretty far down in the list of priorities right now when you have a facist war-monger as head of state. Nader fucked up 2000, is partly responsible for fucking up the world, and now shamelessly commits to more fucking upping. He could have added a lot of support to the democratic campaign by enlisting his activist pachouli caravan in the remove Bush fight.

yea i agree he shouldnt be running because removing bush is more important than breaking the party system. but can you really blame nader for 2000? that seems very narrowminded. if the democrats had a more stimulating candidate instead of al “i’m beginning to understand what you human’s call ‘emotion’” gore they wouldntve voted for nader, who by the way was the best candidate of the 2000 race. so has it come to now we no longer vote for who we want? sure in 2000 some of us were naive by voting for nader because he wouldve done right by this country, but dont blame him for causing gore to lose and the madness that followed. gore holds more blame than nader does. tranquilo, hombre. tranquilo.

i agree with h. rex, i think it’s sad that this country has changed from 2000 thinking we should vote for the best candidate to now, in 2004, voting for whoever has the best chance to beat bush. i’ll be honest with you, i don’t think i’d vote for nader again (yes i did vote for him in 2000), but if howard dean runs as an independent candidate i’ll vote for him. soon, very soon, a third party will get the necessary 5% to get further federal funding in future elections, and we actually might have a viable option other than the Republicrats/Democans that currently reside in Washington, DC. God I can’t wait to change the world.

I agree with David, doggystyle is by far the best position. Is that what we’re taling about. Jeb Bush 2008, now that will be scary….

Seriously man, I hope you’re joking. That Nader argument is old, tired and makes even less sense now than it did in 2000. Breaking the two-party duopoly is the first step to solving every political problem we have in this country (along with campaign finance reform). Nader is 0% responsible for anything that happened after the election - the people of this country that accept everything they are told about WMD’s and terrorists are, however, very much to blame. Besides that, do you really believe that Nader should not have run in 2000? Gore won the popular vote and Florida and if it were not for some extreme legal shenanigans propogated by Bush III (Jeb, I mean) and Katherine Harris among many others (the Supreme Freaking Court), he would have won the election and the Green party would be seen as a legitimate alternative for progressives who run to Dean instead, rather than a threat. I have never be that hot on Dean because I don’t think he has any answers, as opposed to Nader who actually had a very solid platform for many issues, domestic and foreign. Nader is done as a politician precisely because democrats and progressives who are against Bush insist on blaming him for what they hate about Bush. I don’t know if it is Fruedian displacement or just a regurgitation of the Democratic (read moderate) establishment propaganda but it just doesn’t hold water. And the fact that Nader gets so much credit and blame demonstrates to me that many people and politicians had a legitimate reason to fear Nader, thereby justifying his campaign. Anyway, thats my view on the whole Nader thing, but you were probably just joking anyway. right?
