Palenque

Cruised by Palenque this morning - some of the craziest ruins I´ve ever seen. Definitely comparable to Macchu Picchu - but with even thicker ass jungle. And we stayed in this camp in the jungle with hundreds and hundreds of bearded, sandaled hippies. You know how you always wonder at Phish shows, like, where the fuck do all these people come from? It´s the Mexican jungle man. Giant zip lock bags of mushrooms for five bucks. Incense everywhere. Fire dancers. There was even a ponytailed kid who drove down from California in a 93 white Saturn. We parked next to him and took a picture. He told me my Mayan sign was the blue moon and that we were soul brothers. ¨peace dude.¨ that´s what he said - it was beautiful.

Now we´re in Catemaco, a small lakeside town and Mexico´s brujeria ¨witchery¨ capitol. Yet to be detirmined if Laura has seen any ghosts yet. I´m thinking she´s reluctant to tell me these days.

We are so so so low on money. All donations accepted. Kevin has already put down $100 and rumor is he will match all future donations. We are staying in the brokest, most run down hotel I have ever seen in my life. Also the cheapest in the town. After getting settled in we began to hear strange sucking sounds. Then something between a gagging noise and someone dying. Then silence. Then sucking.

Laura and I looked at each other with eyes open wide, then looked towards the door. On the door read: from 10 pm to 8 am, three hours for 50 pesos.

My hope is the noises will not last for three hours. It´s the only reason we´re hear in this internet cafe.

Manana we pass through Veracruz and hopefully all the way up to Tampico.
